In 1912, work began on a new railway line between Port Augusta in South Australia and Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The inaugural passenger train service was known as the Great Western Express; later it became the Trans-Australian. This poster, produced during the early 1950’s is promoting the train as a comfortable and effective way to travel across Australia.
