David Hockney Original Vintage Poster Art Exhibition Prints

David Hockney is one of Britain’s most recognised and celebrated artists, with a career spanning over half a decade. Hockney was an important contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 1960’s, and he is now considered to be one of the most influential painters of the 20th century.

Hockney is represented in major collections around the world including the British Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Hayward Gallery Arts Council Collection, London. To celebrate the artists long career, a major retrospective of Hockney’s work was organised by the Tate museum in Britain, as well as the Centre Pompidou and the Metropolitan Museum.

David Hockney’s best known art series, are the paintings he produced whilst living in California. Hockney moved to California in 1964 from England. The Californian landscape was hugely inspirational for Hockney, most evident in his swimming pool series, especially his ‘slash’ paintings, such as ‘A Bigger Splash’ from 1967.
