Designed by Andre Francois, this poster is advertising the Citroen DS car model; “The Citroën DS and its less expensive variant, the Citroën ID, are front-engined, front-wheel drive executive cars manufactured and marketed by Citroën from 1955 to 1975 in sedan/fastback, wagon/estate and convertible body configurations, across three series. Both letter combination names work as puns in the French language. “DS” is pronounced exactly like déesse, literally meaning ‘goddess’, whereas “ID” is pronounced as idée (‘idea’).”
